Plastex Composite is the only boat manufacturer which considers and builds boats for all kind of body types and techniques to achieve his/her maximum result. Please read all the comments made by World Champions or Olympians about each boat model available to you or talk to Plastex Rep.
# 2) What's the right boat for me?
Select the boat size based on your weight in competition form. Select boat stiffness, from least stiff to stiffest: Standard, Sport , Racing+,Extreme. In general, the stiffer the boat the more durable it will be. A heavier athlete may require a stiffer boat as the increased load will cause the boat to wear more quickly. Furthermore, if you request a boat lighter than regulation, it must be made in a stiffer quality, ( Extreme). Bear in mind, Plastex boat are in general very stiff. The Racing + stiffness is comparable to most of our competitors Extreme and is the stiffness most often selected by National Teams. Select the model that is best for you. This may not be the newest model, so if you have the opportunity, try out different models to find out which suits you best.

# 5) How does the boat get to me?
A shipping container is the most cost-effective method of shipping a boat. Containers are are shipped to a major North American port, usually Montreal or Miami. This method of shipping is considerably less expensive than by any other method, but delivery times are limited. Orders for shipping by container are taken on a first come, first served basis. The deadline for ordering a boat and shipping by container is approximately two month before arrival.
Boats can also be shipped individually by air. The delivery time is typically 4 weeks after ordering. Shipping costs by air are very expensive, but varies with the carrier. The boat is shipped to the most convenient airport for you. Boats are fully insured during shipping, but if an accident does occur, it is your responsibility (as the boat owner) to deal with the insurance company. It is preferable to ship the boat on a direct flight if possible, to avoid unnecessary handling. All container transport will be arranged by the Plastex Rep.
Information for customers purchasing Plastex Boats through the Manitoba Paddling Association
The Manitoba Paddling Association (MPA) facilitates the purchase of boats from Plastex in Poland by arranging for the manufacturing and transport of equipment for North American customers. Customers request boats from MPA; MPA then forwards the customer's money and request to Plastex. Plastex manufactures the boat(s), packs them either individually or into large storage containers and arranges for their shipment to North America to a port convenient for the majority customers in the event of a large purchase, or most convenient to the individual in the event of individual purchases. Please be aware that a port is large center, such as Toronto or Montreal. Plastex does not arrange for transportation of purchases beyond these sites, and the insurance purchased by Plastex to cover the safe transportation of the boats does not usually extend beyond the port of entry. Should a boat be found to be damaged upon arrival at the port of entry, it is the responsibility of the INSURANCE COMPANY not MPA nor Plastex, to reimburse the customer for damages. Customers must deal directly with the insurance company. MPA will be pleased to assist customers with their claims, should unfortunate event occur. Occasionally, MPA may assist customers in arranging for the transportation of their purchase from the port to their home. In these situations, the customer is responsible for purchasing extra insurance if they wish to cover the boat for damage during the final part of the transportation.
