Centre Overview

Selkirk Canoe Kayak Centre (SCKC) has been in existence for over 18 years. It began with a few enthusiastic paddlers who had a vision of one day being able to share their love of paddling to interested individuals in the City of Selkirk and surrounding area. Their enthusiasm of the sport has made our centre what it is today. Many of the original members are still Involved In the centre, providing coaching and support to the new members and executive. Today, we have paddlers of varying abilities and a wide range of ages from 9 to 75 years old!

SCKC provides an extensive array of programs for the recreational paddlers, beginner and novice paddlers, as well as those who want to compete at provincial, national or international levels. SCKC is proud of their members' athletic accomplishments. In the sprint kayak division, SCKC athletes have been named to the junior and senior Canadian National Teams. Many of our youth are also on the provincial sprint team, "Team Toba". Our adult sprint paddlers and long distance or marathon paddlers have represented us well at many competitions at both the provincial and national levels.

It doesn't matter what program you choose; recreational paddling for a chance to meet some great people and get some exercise along the way OR if you're a little more competitive, a chance to travel with the sprint discipline. There is a boat with your name on it waiting for you at SCKC!
